Château Pape-Clément

Cru Classé de Graves

Few Grand Crus can boast seven centuries of history and being born from the love of a Pope. Such is the unique origin of Château Pape-Clément, a Cru Classé of Graves in Pessac, which is named after Clement V, Archbishop of Bordeaux, who was elected Pope in 1305 under Philip the Fair. For five consecutive centuries, Pope Clement’s estate was an archiepiscopal property. Mr. Bernard Magrez is the current owner. Pape Clément produces an exceptional white wine made from Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Muscadelle, highly sought after by enthusiasts. The rest of the vineyard is planted with Cabernet, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, producing a wine that combines power, structure, and great finesse.
