Château Pontac Monplaisir

“Château Pontac Monplaisir belonged to the Pontac family in the 16th and 17th centuries, who also owned the famous Château Haut-Brion at that time. Count Pontac had made this estate a hunting and gastronomy venue. During the Revolution, Pontac Monplaisir was divided and came into the hands of several owners. It wasn’t until 1955 that Mr. Jean Maufras began reassembling the vineyard and renovating all the cellars to enable bottling at the château. The property is now managed by his son, Mr. Alain Maufras.”
