Château Latour-Martillac

A Classified Growth of Graves in both red and white since 1953, Château Latour-Martillac is named after the tower adorning its honor courtyard, a remnant of a small fortress built in Martillac in the 12th century by the ancestors of the famous philosopher and winemaker Montesquieu. Located on an exceptional hill of Pyrenean gravel, this estate attracted the attention of Édouard Kressmann, a Bordeaux merchant since 1871, particularly for the quality of its white wines. His eldest son, Alfred, purchased the estate in 1930. He expanded the vineyard with red wine and, together with his son Jean, designed the current label with gold and sand stripes, which has adorned the bottles since 1934. Today, Tristan and Loïc Kressmann continue the family tradition of prioritizing quality over yield on this authentic gravel terroir. With their elegant structure and harmony, the red and white wines of Latour-Martillac are recognized as reliable benchmarks of the Pessac-Léognan appellation.
