Château Ferran

Château FERRAN has been planted with vines since the 18th century when Montesquieu was its owner. In the late 1990s, Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste took over the family vineyard, supporting the necessary investments to revive this sleeping beauty. In early 2018, the 5th generation gradually took over, keeping the property within the same family since 1880. The 70 hectares of the estate, evenly divided between vineyards, centennial forests, and meadows for “bazadaise” cattle, are a fine example of biodiversity. Château Ferran, certified HVE 3 since 2018, is managed with sustainable agriculture practices: no herbicides or CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reprotoxic) products are used, and sexual confusion methods are employed as an alternative to insecticides. The white wines of Château Ferran exhibit fresh notes of citrus zest and iodized touches, typical of Sauvignon Blancs aged on clay-limestone soils. The red wines of Château Ferran are appreciated for their finesse, aromas of black fruits, and toasted bread notes.
