Château Hannetot

“Since the early 18th century, this estate has been producing wine. Formerly known as ‘Hantot,’ the château originated from land reorganizations preceding the French Revolution of 1789. The château was rebuilt in 1870, maintaining its original construction to this day. In 2006, Xavier Beaumartin, manager of Château Laroque in Saint-Émilion, took over the property and chose to bring a new perspective to the wines of this family estate, nestled in the vineyards of Pessac-Léognan. The aging process is carried out with care and precision, respecting traditional methods and gestures. The four small hectares conceal an incomparable treasure: plots of very different natures. One is clay, another limestone, and the last one gravel. The grape varieties thus find exactly the right soil under their feet. There are three varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The cultivation methods have also been entirely revised, and in the same spirit, fully modernized cellars have been established. Oenologist Serge Charritte has been crafting Château HANNETOT since 2010.”
