Château Haut-Bacalan

In 1726, Charles Louis de Secondat de Montesquieu acquired this property. He significantly expanded it, which led to disagreements with King Louis XIV. In 1748, Monsieur de Bacalan bought it and gave it his name. In 1998, Corinne and Charles Henri Gonet acquired Haut Bacalan. They restored it. This vineyard estate thus regained its top-tier status in Pessac.
