Château Malartic-Lagraviere

Cru Classé de Graves

• “Located on the oldest Bordeaux vineyard terroir, Domaine de la Gravière has been situated for centuries on one of the region’s finest gravel ridges, composed of Quaternary Günzian gravel. In the late 18th century, the Maurès de Malartic family acquired it. The estate was renamed Malartic-Lagravière in honor of Hippolyte, Count of Malartic, the illustrious admiral of the Kings of France. Purchased at the end of 1996 by Michèle and Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie, the 73-hectare property, including 7 hectares of white grapes, was completely renovated.
Based on the concept of gravity, its ultra-modern winemaking facility, entirely dedicated to traditional vinification methods, is recognized as one of the most advanced. The vineyard, located on a magnificent terroir of dry and clayey gravel, receives meticulous care. With a global agroecological approach to the vineyard and its ecosystem, the soils are skillfully plowed, and certain parcels are managed with grazing to maintain vegetation cover, promoting self-fertility and biodiversity. Château Malartic-Lagravière is one of only six Bordeaux crus classified in both white and red. It is renowned worldwide for its complex, balanced, and elegant wines, enjoyed at the finest tables.»
