Château Pontac Monplaisir

Château Pontac Monplaisir belonged to the Pontac family in the 16th and 17th centuries, who also owned the renowned Château Haut-Brion at that time. The Count of Pontac had turned this estate into a hunting and gastronomic rendezvous. During the Revolution, Pontac Monplaisir was divided and subsequently belonged to several owners. It was not until 1955 that Mr. Jean Maufras undertook the reorganization of the vineyard and the renovation of all the cellars to enable bottling at the château. The estate is now managed by his son, Mr. Alain Maufras.
