Château Roche-Lalande

“José and Brigitte Rodrigues-Lalande, owners of four châteaux in Bordeaux: in Graves, Château de Castres and Château de Beau-Site, two 18th-century charterhouses; in Pessac-Léognan, Château Pont Saint-Martin, a 17th-century Palladian villa with its guest rooms, and Château Roche-Lalande, a true gem of technology that is part of an eco-responsible movement. The resulting architecture is directly inspired by the local terroir. Indeed, the geometric facade is made of pebbles and gravel, reflecting the soil that gave its name to our renowned wine region: Les Graves. Reinterpreting the construction of dressed stone, this cellar plays with traditional codes to emerge directly from the vineyard. Today, this property is part of the “Architectures et Paysages” collection, co-published by the CAUE de la Gironde, a beautiful tribute to this land and the people who have walked it.
