Created in 1987, A.O.C. Pessac-Léognan is the youngest of Bordeaux’s communal appellations, but it comes from a very old terroir where the first vines were grown over 2,000 years ago, and where many of the estates that make it famous worldwide are several hundred years old.
The appellation’s rigorous specifications have fostered the dynamism, progress and reputation of our estates in every respect, from the soils to the vines to the winemaking techniques. We are proud to uphold the key values of the purest Bordeaux style, with its ideals of restraint, balance and truth, and a constant quest for innovation :

It’s because we’re demanding winemakers, deeply rooted in our terroirs from generation to generation, that we manage to deliver wines of great finesse, delicacy and seduction, with ever-higher levels of quality and precision.
Our name, Pessac-Léognan, is now synonymous with excellence, offering vintage after vintage of elegant wines that are appreciated for their consistency and longevity and which, for wine-lovers the world over as well as for sommeliers and restaurateurs, embody a certain ideal of harmony and the purest expression of the fruit: it’s hardly surprising, then, that Pessac-Léognan wines are the favourite of the people of Bordeaux ?
